Tribute To Magic is a glorious picture, one of Jones’ best. That puff of sheer, gorgeous and arresting Cerulean blue pumped across a strange, shining, nocturnal foliage is like the central leitmotif in her work. The unexpected, the purely beautiful event that serves, ultimately, and like all the best art, to lead the viewer to greater feeling of being alive, and a greater sense of wonder at the universe. In a picture like this, Jones’ seems to have perfected that uncanny knack some artists have of finding the right moment.
